Window Pain

There's a puppy outside my window

he is starving and cold

hasn't eat'n in so damn long that

I can count all his bones

but we can't here him crying

we keep the window closed

inside it's warm and toasty

some say we've got it all

we gorge, sex, and party

yeah were having a ball

and when we want more

and we always want more

yeah when we want moOore

we send the puppy to war

I live high on a mountain

upon the Eastern shore

a little village called Manhatten

just outside of New York

from here I rule this world

that I love to destroy

you can bet I'll drown you in debt

to get the things that I enjoy

and the puppy outside my window

is gathering stones

someday he'll smash the window

and try and crush all of my bones

but he will not defeat me

I'll start world war three

there'll be radiation poisening and

blood flowing out in the streets

I am the prince of darkness

everybody worships me

and all the children sing

mommy I want this

momma I want that

I want the puppy outside the window

Daddy I want everything

on the inside we are denying

on the outside we are all dieing

and the fire is out there searching

while the hounds just keep on barking

and in the end there will be nashing of teeth

for the likes of you and me

and there is no escape

but I'll show you the keys

they've been laid out in the open

for all the world to see

they are the light of this world

they are spirits of love and charity

but they do not belong to us child

they are the enemy

ours is to keep on fighting

and trying to get more

at the expense of our neighbors

yeah we want war

see the bullets and bombs flying

and the debt just keeps on rising

God if we can't have the universe

we'll destroy all life on earth

soon it will all be gone

and isn't that what we've wanted all along

yes, we've all heard this story

and now we also know

this is our reality

and it's time to choose our destiny
